The MA in Gender and Social Justice combines coursework with experiential education and independent research to prepare students for doctoral-level study or for careers in fields such as education, law, journalism, non-profit community work, public policy, social work, and many others. A centrepiece of our M.A. Program is the required Knowledge in Action course, in which students work closely with our community partners from organizations such as The YWCA, The Sexual Assault Centre of Hamilton and Area, The Well (The LGBTQ Community Wellness Centre of Hamilton), Big Susie’s (a Hamilton- based sex workers advocacy group) and The Hamilton Status of Women Committee.
