Applications are invited for a Temporary up until 30th June 2024 post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within School of Geography
This Postdoctoral Researcher will work on the ERC project : `Beyond Opposition’ under the supervision of Professor Kath Browne as the Principal Investigator (PI). The position will focus on UK/Ireland and will be based in the School of Geography, University College Dublin under the direct supervision of Prof. Kath Browne, supported by Prof. Catherine J. Nash.
This research seeks to move `Beyond Opposition’ in the face of increasing social polarisation in the UK, Canada and Ireland. It will consider how recent social and legal changes to sexual and gender rights impact different people within these countries. The successful candidate will work as part of a research team (located in Ireland and Canada) to undertake the Irish/UK data collection. This includes conducting 25-30 qualitative interviews before October 2022, and in the second year, working with the team to develop arts-based workshops. The successful candidate will work with the team, as well as with artists, consultants and others to develop and deliver arts-based workshops. As part of the workshops, the Postdoc will employ creative methodologies in order to address social polarisation.
They will be part of data coding and as part of the team engage in data analysis. The Postdoc will be a crucial part of a project that will develop critical theoretical engagements and methodologies in ways that drive forward research agendas and seek social transformation.
PD Level 1 ; Salary : €39,131 - €45,158 per annum
