We are looking to recruit an Assistant or Associate Professor in International Relations (Gender and International Relations). Candidates must state, in their cover letter, whether their application is for the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. These documents are attached to the vacancy on the LSE’s online recruitment system. The successful candidate must fulfil all the essential criteria of the relevant person specification.
All candidates must have a research interest in gender and international relations and show a clear and visible strategy for future top quality research. All candidates must also demonstrate research and teaching interests linked to one or more of the Department’s four research and teaching clusters : statecraft and diplomacy ; international law, institutions and ethics ; international political economy ; and international theory.
To be considered for an Assistant Professor role, candidates will need a completed or nearly completed PhD in international relations or a related field by 1 September 2016. Candidates should also have a proven or developing record of publications in refereed international journals or with highly-respected book publishers based on research that is, or has the potential to be, internationally excellent and, ideally, world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour. Some experience of teaching gender and international relations at the undergraduate or postgraduate level is desirable.
To be considered for an Associate Professor role, candidates will need a PhD in International Relations or a related field and an outstanding record of publications in refereed international journals and, where applicable, with highly respected book publishers. Candidates should have an internationally recognised academic profile based on research that is, or has the proven potential to be, world leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour. A significant track record of excellence in teaching international relations at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels, ideally in teaching gender and international relations, is essential.
Successful candidates should have excellent communication and leadership skills and an ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across the School. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to high quality teaching.
