*’Queer’ Asia Conference: Desire, Decolonisation and Decriminalisation*

The second annual ’Queer’ Asia conference will be held at *SOAS, University
of London* and will also feature partner events at UCL and Birkbeck
College. The theme of our conference this year is *Desire, Decolonization
and Decriminalization *which we will discuss through academic panels,
films, theatre performances and art exhibitions.

This year we are also announcing our first-ever Queer Asia Film Festival to be held on 18th June, 2017 at SOAS. We are
screening 10 LGBT-themed films and will be joined by leading queer asian
film-makers to discuss the importance of cinema in counteracting censorship
and imagining non-heteronormative, queer worlds of love and desire. Book
