The articles in this special issue place Beauvoir in conversation with a range of voices—those of Françoise Sagan, Louisa May Alcott, María Dodera, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Élisabeth Lacoin, and readers who wrote fan letters to Beauvoir in the 1950s and 1960s.
