In 2022, the GIS Gender Institute is launching a call for the hosting of a researcher, whose stay, for a total duration of one month, must take place between September 1 and December 19, 2022.
This program provides for the joint hosting, by the Gender Institute and one of its partner universities, of a researcher from a foreign university for a period of one month. This arrangement offers the chairholder the opportunity to participate or integrate into the teaching and research of the French partner universities of the GIS Gender Institute and to be associated with the scientific activities of the GIS Gender Institute.
The chairholder undertakes to carry out a program of specific actions (conferences, seminars, workshops, master classes, tutorials, etc.) in one of the partner institutions (see their list on the site). As such, the application must include an official invitation from one of the partner universities, specifying the activities envisaged, and the compensation or remuneration foreseen for them.
The GIS Institut du Genre will cover the transportation costs (between the country of origin and France, and between the GIS and the partner institutions) and the accommodation costs of the holder. If the host university is located in the Paris region, the fellow will benefit from an apartment at the Maison des chercheurs du Campus Condorcet; in addition, the infrastructure of the Campus Condorcet will be made available to him/her for the duration of his/her stay (in particular, a workstation equipped with computer equipment).
This call is addressed exclusively to teacher-researchers and researchers who already hold a doctorate, working in a foreign university or research organization, and who have a teaching and/or research project on gender and sexualities for the duration of their stay in France. All disciplines of the humanities and social sciences are concerned.
Applicants must have a sufficient command of French to participate in the scientific activities of the Gender Institute and its partners.
Priority will be given to applications that foresee the continuation of a cooperation between the holder and the host university after the end of the stay (e.g. invitation of a French researcher to the university of origin).
The file must contain the following elements:
The attached form filled in;
A CV including the list of publications as well as the list of experiences / stays in France (grants, research stays, etc.);
A letter of invitation from one of the Gender Institute’s partner institutions describing the activities planned with the candidate during his/her stay and specifying the expected remuneration or compensation.
All of these documents should be sent between January 3 and 24, 2022 to the following address email@example.com with the explicit indication in the title of the email "Gender Chair - name of the applicant".
