Department of Sociology and Anthropology - Sexuality and/or Kinship

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Concordia University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Sociocultural Anthropology, with a research focus on Sexuality and/or Kinship, including topics such as transnational adoption, new reproductive technologies, and sexual identities. All geographic areas are open, but we are particularly interested in researchers working in Africa and the Middle East. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong research program, and the ability to teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, including core courses in theory and/or methodology. Knowledge of the French language is an asset. A PhD in Anthropology or a related discipline is required at time of appointment.

Applications must consist of a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae, copies of recent publications, statement of teaching philosophy/interests, a statement of research achievements, and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Candidates must also arrange to have three letters of reference sent directly to the departmental contact.
