The Center on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) provides a supportive educational environment for students at all levels, including recent doctoral graduates. Cited as a “leading research institute” by the White House, VAWC offers numerous violence against women and children-related research projects from federally funded randomized control trials to community-based program evaluations.

Current Projects include :
♦ Impact of economic empowerment curriculum with domestic violence survivors evaluation, supported by The Allstate Foundation (P.I. Dr. Postmus)
♦ Peer-led interactive theatre program intended to prevent sexual violence on college campus evaluation (P.I. Dr. McMahon ; co-PI Dr. Postmus)
♦ Campus Climate Assessment on sexual violence (P.I. Dr. McMahon)

REQUIREMENTS

♦ PhD in Social Work or a related field
♦ Experience with research on violence against women and children and/or working with survivors
♦ Experience with advanced statistics like SEM – Preferred
♦ Experience working with longitudinal datasets – Preferred
♦ Grant writing experience – Preferred
