Gender, work and transforming organizations : Methodologies, theories and practices

Nordwit (Nordic Centre of Excellence) and Gender Studies at the University of Tampere are organizing a research course and workshop Gender, work and transforming organizations : Methodologies, theories and practices (5–7,5 ECTS).

The course is meant for masters students, doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers, and it will take place in Tampere, Finland 18th–20th April 2018.

The course participants will study feminist theories, methods and practices focusing on gender, work and transforming organizations in, for example, the following themes :

- Methodologies of studying (and promoting) gender and sexual equality in research and innovation, in and outside of academia
- Tackling the gender paradox – such as, the increasing number of women, and the persistent gender and sexual inequalities in knowledge intensive sector – through Action Research
- The intersections of femininities and masculinities/gender politics, and enhancing/hindering the promotion of gender and sexual equality in research and innovation

In addition to lectures, discussions and workshops, up to 10 participants will have an opportunity to present their (work-in-progress) papers for comments and discussions. Papers with topics related to the course theme are prioritized.
